 Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal has been working in the field of Physical education and recreation for the last 87 years. It is now common knowledge that Mandal has been successful in developing Indian system of exercise and games on modern scientific line and as a result has earned a great popularity for them within the country and abroad. Mandal in 1924-25 initiated special course during summer vacation for the outstation youths and for the in-service teachers. These classes and the certificate awarded by the Mandal, in the course of time, were recognised and considered as requisite qualification for the appointment as Physical Education teachers in schools and colleges. Thus Mandal made pioneering effort in the professional preparation during the pre-Independence period. Thousands of youths from all over India had taken benefit of this training. The popularity of these classes and growing demand for the supply of qualified teachers and organizer of Physical Education encouraged Mandal to step further in the direction by establishing a regular training institute for Physical Education . Mandal had aimed at developing long term professional course with a view to produce highly efficient and qualified physical education teachers for schools, colleges and universities, now during the last decade the long cherished aim has been fulfilled and at present Mandal is proud of running professional course leading to Master Degree in Physical Education. Now research work at post graduate and Ph.D. level is also carried out in Mandal. Facilities in the form of library and research personnel required for carrying out research work in physical education and allied sciences are available. Similarly the Mandal has been successful in developing a grand sports complex in its premises. Well laid out play grounds for different games with flood-.light arrangement , standard cinder track of 400 m. International standard swimming pools, Indoor sports pavilion-cum-gymnasium, Judo-and-wrestling halls, sports hostel, seminar hall, Sports Library, well equipped weight training hall, Research Laboratory are the facilities already developed and used by the college. Degree college of physical education has been started by the Mandal in the year 1963. It is co-education and residential. Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal with the aim of educating tribal people has also established a branch at Chikhaldara "Girijan Sharirik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya". The courses are as:
It is started from 1973-74. The purpose of this degree is to develop the leadership skill in physical education.There is vast scope of employment in administrative post like physical education director, vice director, state inspector and district sport officer. Apart from this they can provide their services in University, colleges as lecturer in physical education, sport director or sport officer. Duration : Two Years(2Yrs)
The students acquire a job as a Physical Teacher in any school after completing B.P.Ed. Duration : 1 Year
