Shree Hanuman Vyayam
Prasarak Mandal, Amravati is a voluntary organisation founded during our freedom struggle
to instill in youths the spirit of patriotism and to propagate ancient indigenous system
of physical culture and sports. The members of the institute had played a significant role
in the Freedom Movement of our country.
Mahatma
Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Pt. Motilal Nehru, Smt. Indira Gandhi
and several other national leaders had visited the institute and praised its secular
character and sincere efforts in propagation of Indian system of physical culture and
sports.
The institution
was founded as an akhara (Gymnastic Club)) in 1914, by Vaidya Brothers, Shri Anant Krishna
and Ambadas Krishna Vaidya. It was their dream to develop it into a full-fledged center
for spreading Indian physical culture on national and international level, which has now
materialized as a result of dedicated efforts of hundreds of its members. It has received
national and international recognition as a premier Institute in the field of traditional
physical culture, sports and youth welfare.
The
multifaceted sports complex of the Mandal spreads over a well developed area of 125 acres
of land, attracting thousands of sportsmen, physical education experts, coaches,
organisers and sports enthusiasts from all over the country for its following specialties
:
It is the only private Institute in the country
having a Sports Complex on the scale deserving national and international recognition.
It provides facilities for diverse sports and
allied activities and for conducting different courses in physical education and sports.
It has become an important center for holding
meets of various sports and for practising and developing Indian system of physical
culture and sports.
- It has organised demonstration tours to popularise Indian system
of physical culture and sports in the country and abroad and deputed delegations to
participate in international workshops, seminars and conferences to create awareness of
the values and merits of Indian physical culture and sports.
The Sports Complex is situated in the heart of
Amravati city in the State of Maharashtra and is utilised by various social, commercial,
Government and non-Government organisations, Corporations, Boards, Colleges, and
University to conduct sports competitions, cultural activities and other allied functions.

I) Multipurpose Sports Pavilion (Anant Kreeda
Mandir) :- 120' x 80' playing area two sides galleries for 3000 spectators,
Raised Platform-cum Stage(60' x 20') attached to magnificent domeshaped Hall, Floodlight
arrangement, Seven Rooms-cum-Halls beneath the galleries to run classes and accomodate
players. Playing area in Hall is used for Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Badminton, Judo,
Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Roller Skating, Film Shows, Variety Entertainments. Rs. 1.5
lacs assistance of Government of India. Total investments for the Pavilion is Rs, 75.00
lacs.
II) Olympic-type International Standard Swimming
Pool (50 m x 21 m + 13m x 21 m Diving Arena) :- Filteration-cum-Chlorination
Plant attached to Pool, Separate Swimming Tank for Beginners. Flood-light
Arrangements. Toilet Arrangement with attached Lockers. Pavilion-Spectators.
Gallary-Capacity 4000. Rs. 1.00 lac assistance from Maha. State Government Total cost. Rs.
1.5 Crores. One more (25x21 Mts.) Swimming Pool is ready for use with the U.G.C. New Delhi
assistance of Rs. 25.00 lacs. Thousands of Sportsmen & Women are taking benefit of
training imparted in different swimming activities.
Ill) Huge Open Stadium (120 m x 15 m ) :-Capacity
30,000 spectators. Stadium also contains Judo hall, Wrestling Hall, Weight Training
Room, Lecture Hall, Residential wing (accommodation for 400 players) Store Rooms, Office,
Canteen, Toilets, Flood light arrangement. Total investment for stadium is Rs. 2.5
crores. Adjacent to the stadium there is a beautiful garden with fountain and a
memorial of Founder Late Ambadas Pant Vaidya.
IV) Indoor Badminton Stadium :- There is
newly constructed Indoor Stadium namely 'Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium' with
an investment of Rs. 1.5 crores. The Stadium provides four badminton courts. A
provision of Basket Ball and a Volley Ball ground is made in the stadium. Similarly,
cultural program can also be staged in the stadium. Thus, there is multipurpose utility of
the stadium. The stadium consists of residential rooms for players, spectator
gallery- (capacity 3000) store rooms, office, toilets, flood light arrangement and a
complete wooden flooring.
V) Play Grounds :-
A. Outdoor Facilities - Two Cinder Tracks-
400 Mts. Provided with rotating water sprinklers, Foot Ball Grounds -2, Hand Ball-2,
Volley Ball-6, Basket Ball-4, Net Ball- 1, Hockey-2, Throw Ball-2, Kabaddi-6,
Kho-Kho-6, Cricket Pitch, Archery Range, Tennis Court.Malkhamb Arena.
B. Indoor Facilities -
Table Tennis Hall-6 Tables, Badminton, Judo, Indian Wrestling pit, Mat Wrestling, Weight
Lifting, Gymnastics, Roller Skating, Aerobics and Rhythmics.
VI) Modern Health Centre :
A. Conditioning Section :
The conditioning hall of 120'x 40' has various modern health apparatus to enable the
athletes and sportsmen to train themselves for competitions.It is equipped with 80
training machines including 12 station multi-trainer.
B. Figure control section : Special
facilities and equipments like Sauna Bath, Steam Bath, Vibrator, Cycle exerciser etc. for
figure control are also installed in the seperate figure control section of this center.
VII) Physiotherapy Centre
A well equipped center is run for the treatment
and rehabilitation of sportsmen, so also for the patients of neuro-muscular and metabolic
diseases. Equipments like ultra violate, short wave and micro wave diathermy, Hot manger,
wax-bath tub. etc. are available.
VIII) Nature Cure and Yoga Centre
A. Nature Cure Centre : Institute has started
'Health for All' nature cure centre with O.P.D. and I.P.D. for 50 beds. At this centre a
constructive program to propagate principles of nature cure with Dhyãna yoga, Agnihotra,
Jal, Wãyu, Akãsh and Prithvi, have been started.
B.Yoga Centre : Mother Institute
has developed yoga center. There is one big hall, rooms for lodging - boarding, toilets
and bath attached therewith a well furnished hostel for residence.Treatment, research and
training facilities in both the branches are provided , outdoor as well indoor patients
are treated at the centres.A special Campus is developed at Chikhaldara-a hill station
about 100 Km. from Amravati, where Yoga and Naturopathy Centre is run throughout the year.
IX) Dr. L. J. Kokardekar Sports Research Centre : A new
separate building is allotted to this center. It is equipped with sophisticated
electronics gadgets and equipment used for experiments and Research. Instruments like
computerised Training Tread Mill-first of its kind in India, Cycle Ergometer, Electronic
Chronoscope and Dynamometer and many other testing equipments are available at this
center. The instruments for research are classified in three different areas i.e. Sports
Psychology, Sports Physiology and Sports Biomechanics.
X) Other Facilities : Co-operative Store, Milk Dairy,
Dispensary,Canteen, Garden, Nagari Sahkari Pat Sanstha, Post Office, T.V. Audio-Visual
Aids including VCR, STD PCO Booth, Fax and E-mail/Services etc.
Shree H.V.P. Mandal runs the following

Department possesses 100 computers installed in 3000 Sq. Feet A/C Chambers and well
furnished hall with LAN and UNIX Systems in operation. Hardware Lab, Microprocessor lab
and training facilities are provided. Computers are also used for sports science research.
The Centre is equipped with multi-media projector and internet facilities. The
Department functions under three wings, i) Academic wing ii) Commercial Service wing iii)

Approximately 2000 boys and 600 girls from different States of our

Near about 2000 local people including youths senior citizens, school children,
businessmen and people of different vocations regularly take utmost advantage of sports
facilities for their health, fitness and recreation.
With the backing of all these modern facilities,
infrastructure and manpower, the Mandal aspires for producing sportsmen and women of
international calibre. The Mandal envisages to build up such a nursery of building
athletes and sportsmen which would fulfill its dream during the next 15 years at the time
when the Mandal would be celebrating its "CENTENARY YEAR" i.e. 2014 A.D.
