AYURVEDIC HOSPITAL

About Us

     Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal   undertook the management of Vidarbha Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Amravati on 15th Nov. 1989.

Ayurvedic_hospital.jpg (46739 bytes)  Within a year of  Mandal  improved the enviornment of this half century old College and Hospital academically and socially. The Mandal has spent more than Rs.30,000,00 (Thirty lakhs) to uplift this college till now.

Now Vidarbha Ayurved Mahavidyalaya has become one of the leading colleges in Maharashtra with its 200 beds hospital and well equipped departments, operation theatre and library. The occupied beds are 160 to 175 and 250 to 300 outdoor patients are treated daily.

The College owns a well equipped Operation Theatre. The Mandal intends to develop research in Ayurved on scientific lines. The Post Graduate classes of M.D., ENT, Medicine, Surgeon & Health and Hygiene has been started from the session 1992-93.

The facilities of the college & Hospital are freely available to the students of other Colleges & Departments of Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal.

Departments

The main purpose of constructing the Ayurvedic hospital is to provide all medical facilities to the needy people. The hospital consist of all the facilities so the patients don’t need to go  outside for conducting any tests.

The departments are as follows:

  • Panchkarma Department
  • O. P. D (General & Orthopedic)
  • I. P. D
  • Gaenecology Department
  • Surgery Department
  • E. N. T. Department
  • Operation Theatre (Minor & Major)
  • X-ray Section
  • Pathology Department
  • Medicine Distribution Section
  • Injection & Dressing Section
  • Stock Department

       Apart from all these departments there is an Ayurvedic Pharmacy having all the necessary facilities. This pharmacy serves two purposes : It gives valuable practical experience to the P.G. students specialising in Ayurvedic medicines; and the quality medicines prepared are made available to the needy patients at low cost. 

    Panchkarma

Panchkarma is the basic of Ayurveda. It is one of the treatment modalities in ayurveda .It consist of five karma i.e. process hence this name. With this therapy the tridosha i.e. văta, pitta, cough and other body impurities like mal are completely cured from the root. It purifies the body, improves digestion and gives energy to the body. Many times after the any other treatment there are possibilities of reoccurance of disease but by this ayurvedic therapy the diseases are cured from the root.

The five processes are as follows

  • Vaman Kriya : In the process the drugs are given to the patients orally and induced vomiting is caused to expel out the impurities in the body, which helps in curing the disease.

  • Virechan Kriya : In this process the drugs are given to the patients orally to expel out the impurities from the body by defecation, which helps in curing the disease.

  • Basti Kriya : In this process the root anima is given to the patients either through drug or oil.

  • Nasya Kriya : In this process the drugs are given to the patients through nose to expel out the impurities from the body.

  • Rakta Moksha Kriya : In this therapy the impure blood from the affected area of body is taken out by means of leech.

About Camps  :

    The special facility provided by Ayurvedic Hospital  in coordination with Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal is to conduct different camps. These camps are held  on annually , biannually and monthly basis. In the camp along with treatment the lodging, meal as well as medicines are provided to the patients free of charge.

 

Plastic Surgery Camp : 

     This camp is held biannually. Generally in the month of October & January. Surgery Deptt. is responsible for the arrangement of this camp.

  The Deptt. have well equipped operation theater (minor & major). The specialists invited are   Dr. Sheril Perry from America and Dr. Ashok Gupta & Dr. Wadhwa from Mumbai.

      In the selection criteria of patients the priority is given to the poor and Post-burn contraction patients.

 

Vaman Camp :  

     This camp held in month of February or March. The camp is of two days. The treatment given is fully ayurvedic. Vaman is one of the processes in Panchkarma. The Panchkarma Deptt. manages this camp. The asthama, skin  disease, obesity, tuberculosis patients are selected in this camp.

       The drugs are given to the patient orally and induced vomiting is caused to expel out the impurities in the body and cure the disease.

 

Cataract with IOL (Intra Ocular Lens Implant) :

     This camp is held on last Thursday of each month. The camp is managed by ENT section. Both ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are given to the patients. The early investigations, operation, medicine as well as spectacles after operations are given to patients free of charge.

Squint Camp :

    This camp is organized annually for three days. The patients having problem of refractive errors and weakness of muscles are admitted in this camp. Generally the priority is given to children and young girls.
